The German government announced it's taking over energy company Uniper.
The nationalization of Uniper, previously the country’s largest importer of Russian gas, is designed to ensure the needed supply of energy to homes and businesses is met.
The German government is investing $7.9 billion to buy the shares in Uniper it does not already own.
