Georgetown plans steps to atone for slave past

Georgetown University once profited from the sale of 272 slaves - nearly two centuries ago.

Now, the school is taking steps to atone for its past.

The Washington, D.C., university will award preferential status in the admissions process to descendants of the enslaved, and it will rename two campus buildings - one for an enslaved African American man and the other for an African American educator who belonged to a Catholic religious order.
