President George W. Bush will visit southwest Missouri on April 7 to speak at College of the Ozarks.
Tickets are free for his speech, titled "Leadership and Character," and will be distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis, according to a C of O news release.
The event will be held at the college's Howell W. Keeter Athletic Complex.
“The college is honored to welcome President Bush to campus,” Sue Head, executive director of the Keeter Center for Character Education, said in the release. “It will be a wonderful opportunity for students to hear him speak on leadership and character, which he has consistently demonstrated for the American people.”
Following his presidency, Bush and his wife, Laura, moved back to Dallas, where they presently reside. Bush released his memoir "Decision Points" in November 2010.
Tickets can be obtained by calling (417) 690-2240.
The speech is part of an ongoing community convocation series for the college, which has brought several public figures to the area to speak, including Lady Margaret Thatcher, Secretary of State Colin Powell, Sen. Bob Dole, Sen. Elizabeth Dole, Gen. Norman Schwarzkopf and President Gerald Ford, according to the college's
Web site.
