George Lucas museum coming to Chicago

Crain’s Chicago Business is reporting Chicago beat out Los Angeles and San Francisco in a competitive bid process to become the home of the Lucas Cultural Arts Museum, which will be the home of filmmaker George Lucas’ art collection.

The museum is expected to generate up to $2.5 billion in tourist spending per year for the city where the creator of Star Wars lives with his wife.

Lucas’ collection includes works by illustrators Norman Rockwell, Maxfield Parrish and others.
