General Motors on Wednesday announced plans to conduct 3,300 permanent and temporary layoffs.
The 1,750 permanent layoffs impact workers at the company's Detroit-area all-electric factory and Ultium battery cell facility in Ohio.
Temporary layoffs are being made at the Ohio plant and in Tennessee.
