General Mills reverses itself on consumers' right to sue

When General Mills quietly posted on its website last week that almost any type of interaction with the company, including “liking” its products on social media or using its coupons, negated a person’s right to sue, the backlash was swift and loud.
 
So, the cereal maker just as quietly reversed its plan to force consumers to seek dispute resolution through arbitration, and announced that decision late on a Saturday night.
 
The New York Times reports General Mills issued an email at 10 p.m. Saturday that stated it had removed the controversial legal terms from its website and has reverted to its previous terms.
