General Dynamics. agreed to buy U.S. defense information technology contractor CSRA Inc. for $6.8 billion.
The move would boost General Dynamics' existing IT unit that serves the U.S. Department of Defense, the intelligence community and federal civilian agencies.
In premarket trading on Monday, CSRA's shares rose 31.4 percent to $40.50 on the buyout news.
