Geek Foundation co-founder resigns

The Geek Foundation's co-founder has stepped down from the organization’s CEO position.

Krista Peryer, the exiting executive, and officials with The Geek Foundation each submitted statements to Springfield Business Journal indicating that she resigned in February.

"I decided to resign at the beginning of last month to take a break, focus on my education and pursue my next career path," Peryer said via email. "While I will miss the work we do at The Geek Foundation, and I am proud of the work that we have accomplished in my time there, I am excited to take this next step in my personal and professional journey and look forward to watching the organization grow in their new journey."

The Geek Foundation, a women-led nonprofit that offers tuition-free education via technology courses, has hired Heather Noggle, owner of Codistac, and Dami Odunewu, CEO and founder of Purpose Connect, as interim leaders during the transition period, according to a statement provided by the organization's board.

"The board believes this was best for both parties, and we appreciate everything Krista did for the organization during her time here," the statement reads.

The Geek Foundation’s website lists Maranda Provance as co-founder and president of the board.
