GE freezing pensions for 20K employees

General Electric Co. announced it's freezing pensions for roughly 20,000 U.S. employees.

The company is moving to reduce its pension deficit by up to $8 billion.

The company also announced it's offering lump-sum payments to roughly 100,000 former employees and freezing supplementary pension benefits for 700 workers.
