GE earnings rise sharply

General Electric posted $5.15 billion in fourth-quarter net income, up from $3.2 billion a year earlier.

Revenue increased 4 percent to $40.3 billion, according to USA Today.

Making up the bulk of revenue was $31.8 billion in the company's industrial unit.
