The Gates Foundation has made a women's health research pledge to the tune of $2.5 billion.
The philanthropic giving for women's health R&D is slated to be delivered over a five-year period.
"Women’s health continues to be ignored, underfunded and sidelined. Too many women still die from preventable causes or live in poor health,” founder Bill Gates said in a statement. “That must change.”
