Missouri’s average retail gas price rose 6.7 cents during the past week to $2.55 per gallon yesterday.
Comparatively, the national average ticked up 0.4 cents to $2.76 per gallon, according to a
GasBuddy.com news release.
At yesterday’s average, Missouri prices were 14.8 cents higher than a month ago but 85.1 cents lower than a year ago. The U.S. average increased 9.4 cents in the past month but decreased 90.5 cents in the past year.
As of 11:30 a.m., Missouri ranked No. 8 on GasBuddy’s
list of the lowest averages in the nation. With its $2.45 per gallon average, South Carolina topped the list, while California was at the bottom with an average of $3.61 per gallon.
In the Show-Me State, five filling stations in Republic and two in Monett were selling gas this morning at $2.26 per gallon, the lowest in the state. A St. Louis-area station had the highest price, at $3.09 per gallon, according to
MissouriGasPrices.com.
Springfieldians could purchase gas as low as $2.35 per gallon at both Sam’s Club stores. Prices elsewhere in the Queen City ranged from $2.39 to $2.44 per gallon.
West Texas Intermediate crude oil was trading at $58.09 per barrel as of 11:34 a.m., compared to a 52-week range of $47.46 to $97.27.
Light sweet crude oil futures for July were trading at $58.07.[[In-content Ad]]
