Missouri average gas prices resumed their downward trend after a large jump the week before.
Average retail gasoline prices in Missouri fell 4.7 cents per gallon in the week ending Sunday, averaging $2.56 per gallon, according to information from MissouriGasPrices.com.
Last week, prices jumped more than 11 cents per gallon in Missouri after falling for nearly a month statewide.
State prices were 12.6 cents per gallon higher than the same day a year earlier and 3.3 cents per gallon higher than a month earlier.
Nationally, prices averaged $2.74 per gallon, an increase of 0.7 cents per gallon. National prices have decreased 0.4 cents per gallon in the last month and increased 13.5 cents in the last year.
Prices in Springfield were reported anywhere from $2.49 to $2.57 per gallon as of Monday morning.
