Gap Inc. plans to close about 350 of its namesake and Banana Republic stores.
The closure plan, amounting to 30% of its footprint, is slated to be completed by the beginning of 2024. The company would have 870 stores remaining after the planned closures.
“We’ve been overly reliant on low-productivity, high-rent stores,” said Mark Breitbard, global head of the Gap brand.
