Newspaper owner Gannett entered a first-of-its-kind deal with a sports betting company.
The five-year deal worth more than $100 million calls on Tipico USA Technology to provide sports betting odds for Gannett’s sports content. Gannett will embed a button or icon for Tipico in its sports content and receive a referral fee for traffic from first-time bettors.
Gannett owns more than 200 sports websites. It's also the owner of the Springfield News-Leader.
