Newspaper publisher Gannett Co. Inc. is offering voluntary buyouts to employees.
In a memo to staff, Gannett CEO Mike Reed cited "static revenue trends" and its plans "to use AI and leverage automation to realize efficiencies."
The number of employees targeted in the buyouts is unknown. The company had 8,900 employees at the end of 2024, down 11% from 2023 and 20% from 2022.
