GameStop profits fall despite increased same-store sales

New and used video game retailer GameStop Corp. (NYSE: GME) posted worth-than-expected results for its fourth quarter, despite same-store sales growth of almost 8 percent and the launch of new gaming consoles.

Fox News reports the company earned $220.5 million for the quarter, down from a $261.1 million net income a year earlier.

Excluding one-time items, the company earned $1.91 a share, compared with the Wall Street analysts' view of $1.93.
