'Game of Thrones' creators land 'Confederate' on HBO

"Game of Thrones" creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss have a new show coming up on HBO.

The series dubbed "Confederate" takes place in an alternate-reality American South, one where the Confederacy successfully seceded and slavery continued to exist.

"We are thrilled to be able to continue our relationship with Dan and David, knowing that any subject they take on will result in a unique and ambitious series,” HBO Programming President Casey Bloys said in a statement.
