Game Changers: Jim Anderson

Posted online
Since 1988, Jim Anderson has worked as president of the Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce, helping to create jobs and economic development. In the early 1990s, the chamber launched a public-private partnership for Partnership Industrial Center, and a second park, PIC West, was added in 2001. The industrial parks are home to thousands of jobs at corporations such as Cintas Corp., John Deere and NorthStar Battery. More recently, Anderson and the chamber team have aided companies such as Roma, Chase and Digital Monitoring Products with capital expansions and job creation – guiding them to the tax incentives available. In 2005, Anderson was named Springfieldian of the Year.
