Game Changers: Jack Henry

Posted online
What started in 1976 as an idea on the back of a napkin in a coffee shop blossomed into Jack Henry & Associates, a Monett-based publicly traded banking software company (Nasdaq: JKHY) with fiscal 2010 revenues of $836 million. The brainchild of Jack Henry and business partner Jerry Hall made its initial public offering on the Nasdaq exchange in October 1985 and now constructs integrated computer systems and processes ATM and debit card transactions for 11,000 bank and credit union customers nationwide. Though Henry died in 2007, his company has boomed in the public sector, most recently posting annual net income of $118 million. In mid-2010, the company opened its $8.8 million, 160,000-square-foot Springfield campus, cementing its area presence.
