Galena mayor resigns

The mayor of Galena resigned this week after threating an officer who issued his mother a speeding ticket.

Dustin Bray had been mayor less than nine months and succeeded John Calkins, who resigned for health reasons, according to the Springfield News-Leader.

"Under the circumstances, I think it was probably best for the city that he did," said John Arrington, Galena alderman. "I am going to hate to see him go. He was a good mayor, it was just one mistake."
