According to a Habitat news release, the Tool Belts & Bow Ties event in November raised more than $50,000.
That money will provide a new home in Habitat’s Legacy Trails subdivision for Margaret Neff, a single mother who applied to become a Habitat homeowner in August 2006.
Neff, who has four children, already has completed more than 100 sweat-equity hours volunteering with Habitat, and she will complete another 85 hours working on her own home.
Representatives of Olsson Associates, a national engineering firm, and First Horizon Home Loans were expected to be on hand at the Feb. 23 kickoff. Those companies were presenting sponsors at Tool Belts & Bow Ties.
“National supporters of the Habitat for Humanity organization have always played a major role in the success of local affiliates,” said Anna Codutti, director of development and community relations for Habitat-Springfield, in the release.
“It is such a huge blessing when these corporations pledge their support at the local level as part of those partnerships.” [[In-content Ad]]
