Fumio Kishida to become Japan’s new prime minister

Fumio Kishida, Japan's former foreign minister, is set to become the country's next prime minister.

Kishida, 64, won his party's leadership vote on Wednesday.

Kishida will replace Yoshihide Suga, who stepped down over his handling of the COVID-19 pandemic.
