Oct. 25–31 marks the fourth week in a row that national gasoline price averages fell. The story is even rosier in the Midwest, where prices fell to $2.33 a gallon. The Energy Information Administration expects gasoline prices to continue to fall over the historically less-traveled winter months – good news for a petroleum industry still dealing with the effects of the Gulf Coast hurricanes and the coming increase in demand for natural gas and heating oil. The U.S. average price of gasoline per gallon was $2.48 as of Oct. 31, up 12 cents from Oct. 24. The price of crude oil per gallon was $61.30 as of Oct. 28, up 25 cents from Oct. 21.
