The Federal Trade Commission has sued to block Kroger's proposed acquisition of Albertsons.
Henry Liu, director of the FTC’s Bureau of Competition, said the $24.6 billion deal "would lead to additional grocery price hikes for everyday goods, further exacerbating the financial strain consumers across the country face today."
Korger has argued the deal would not harm competition and would allow it to better compete with Walmart.
