FTC kicks off sweeping privacy probe of social media firms

The Federal Trade Commission announced an investigation into nine social media platforms.

The probe is seeking to learn what data the companies collects from users and why.

Discord, Facebook, Reddit, Snapchat, TikTok, Twitch, Twitter, WhatsApp and YouTube are named in the investigation.
