The Federal Trade Commission is launching an investigation into high prices and empty shelves at some major retailers.
Amazon, Kroger and Walmart are among companies that have been ordered “to turn over information to help study causes of empty shelves and sky-high prices.”
The ultimate goal of the probe is to examine the causes for supply chain disruptions and how they are creating "serious and ongoing hardships for consumers and harming competition in the U.S. economy."
