Denver-based Frontier Airlines is returning to Branson Airport after discontinuing service there in 2014.
Starting June 13, Frontier plans to add flights between Branson Airport and Denver International Airport, according to a news release.
“Having Frontier Airlines provides visitors the ability to conveniently and affordably get to Branson from Denver and beyond,” said Jeff Seifried, president of the Branson/Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce and CVB, in the release. “We appreciate Frontier Airlines’ confidence in the broad appeal of the Branson tourism market.”
After Frontier and Dallas-based Southwest Airlines (NYSE: LUV) left Branson Airport in 2014, the airport has relied on charter flights, including Buzz Airways, Elite Airways and Orange Air. Last year, Maitland, Florida-based Via Airlines signed on for five flights, according to past Springfield Business Journal reporting.
