Project description: Affordable Homes Development co-owner Marie Carmichael said the apartment project in west Springfield is supported by $12.2 million in state and federal housing tax credits through the Missouri Housing and Development Commission. Westport Park is providing affordable housing for tenants who earn between 60 percent and 80 percent of Greene County’s median income of $41,622, Carmichael said. The project comprises 46 two- and three-bedroom units across three 24,600-square-foot buildings, and she said one of the buildings includes a community room with a kitchen. Carmichael said Affordable Homes Development is working with the Southwest Center for Independent Living to make available for lease six units on the ground level for people with mobility issues.
