Project description: According to Dan Morales, Walmart Neighborhood Markets are approximately 40,000 square foot grocery stores that are designed for quick access to grocery items with spacious aisles, easy parking, quick check-outs and pharmacy drive-through lanes. The new store on West Republic Road will carry a full line of groceries, including produce, frozen foods, meat and dairy products, and organic items. Morales said its in-store deli would offer hot rotisserie chicken and freshly prepared foods. The store is part of Wal-mart’s plans to bring four Neighborhood Markets to the city. The new stores are expected to bring roughly 360 jobs to Springfield.
