Project description: Officials broke ground in March on Springfield’s first TownePlace Suites by Marriott, a five-story, extended-stay hotel immediately adjacent to Mercy Hospital Springfield. The project brings together development partners Rita Baron of architecture firm Baron Design & Associates LLC, Terry Reynolds of C. Arch Bay Co. and Tim O’Reilly of O’Reilly Hospitality Management LLC. Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design certification is anticipated for the hotel, which O’Reilly said is designed with a stone facade, a pool and large exercise area.
