Description: A landmark 13-story flour mill, built in 1901 and out of operation since the 1970s, provides a highly visible guidepost to The Table, a restaurant being constructed at its foot near the intersection of Chestnut Expressway and National Avenue. Sisters Sheri Perkins and Renee Textor make up the ownership team for the casual-dining restaurant with plans to serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. Part of the funding mix for the restaurant is an $85,000 loan from the city of Springfield’s Micro-enterprise Loan Program/Business Incentive Loan Program, making funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development available at a 5% fixed interest rate, according to past Springfield Business Journal reporting. The development was also approved by Springfield City Council for 25 years of tax abatement for developing in a blighted area of the city.
