Project description: Under construction adjacent to the headquarters of the Salvation Army Springfield, Missouri Corps is a structure that will ultimately accommodate a new shelter for men experiencing homelessness and a food pantry. According to past Springfield Business Journal reporting, the facility will have sleeping rooms, a large dining room and kitchen, classrooms and offices, all within an exterior envelope whose materials have been selected to complement the other structures on the campus. The project will also accommodate an expanded food pantry for the organization, described on the national website as an international Christian evangelical organization whose mission is to preach the biblical gospel and address human needs without discrimination.
