Project description: This project is a collaboration of The Kitchen Inc., Sigma House and Council of Churches of the Ozarks. Twelve apartment units in three buildings will house patients who have completed the Sigma House detoxification program, according to Julie Guillebeau, chief operating officer for Council of Churches of the Ozarks. Sigma House is an affiliate of Council of Churches. "(Patients) will move to these apartments for continuum care," she said, while learning self-sufficiency skills. Patients stay there as long as needed, but each individual has a management plan with a target move-out date. It is funded with a $250,000 HUD grant, which The Kitchen has matched. Those funds will carry the apartments through three years of operations, Guillebeau said. Each unit is equipped with one bedroom and bath, a kitchen and dining area, and an entertainment area.
