Project description: A senior living development is going up about half a mile east of the Menards store at Chestnut Expressway and U.S. Highway 65. The first phase of the Springhouse Village East project calls for a 100-bed assisted living and memory care center, 12 single-family housing units and a clubhouse, said Foster Senior Living Development Director Zach Fischer. The housing units are roughly 1,600 square feet apiece, with two bedrooms, two bathrooms and one- or two-car garages. Fischer said he expects the phase to wrap up by October. Phase II, which will cost $8 million and calls for 25 single-family units, is expected to begin by the end of the year. Fischer said the company plans to break ground this year on a similar project, dubbed Springhouse Village South, near Highland Springs Country Club.
