Project description: The new Southwest Missouri Humane Society building is a masonry structure with a stucco and stone exterior. It has a forest green roof with a cedar-beam and glass entryway, said Randall Voss, president of the society's board of governors. The building will have space for 385 cats and dogs, a state-of-the-art ventilation system by Loren Cook Co., an education center, a spay-and-neuter clinic, a "get-acquainted" area for those adopting pets and, eventually, a full-time veterinarian. About 40 percent of space will be for dog kennels; a separate area will hold cats.Compiled by Jim Versemann. Springfield Business Journal brings you new projects each week.
