Project description: Salon Service Group founder and President Gino Barbo is building his company’s new headquarters, wholesale distribution center and retail store fronting Interstate 44 near Glenstone Avenue as part of the firm’s $4.2 million capital expansion plans. The distributor of hair care products to cosmetology schools is adding 11 employees to its workforce of 140 across 10 sites as part of the capital effort. Once complete, the company, founded in 1987, will move into its new headquarters from 1859 W. Arbor St.  This spring, Salon Service Group bought a Texas-based firm, Next Step Salon Consultants Ltd., expanding headquarter plans to 60,000 square feet from 45,000.
