Description: Rick’s Automotive owner Rick Hughlett is connecting his two auto shop buildings with a 14,000-square-foot expansion to house offices and waiting room space as well as 10 vehicle service bays. The shop currently operates 18 service bays. The project was originally targeting a May completion but has been delayed by weather and economic conditions, including subcontractor layoffs, Hughlett said, noting the estimated cost has increased from $1.3 million, due to rising steel prices as well as changes in plans to a larger awning for the structure. Rick’s Automotive officials have said the new bays will service jobs that take less than an hour.
