Project description: A new Community Development and Public Works Building is underway for Republic Builds, the city’s all-in-one development office. The design includes vehicle maintenance bays, shop space, offices, conference rooms, locker rooms and equipment storage. The one-story, preengineered metal building features decorative horizonal panels and a freestanding entry canopy, according to Steve Guilliams, project manager at Ross Construction Group. Andrew Nelson, Builds administrator, describes the project as a one-stop shop. “If it’s development or construction related, it will happen there,” he said. He added the L-shaped building has one wing for planners, inspectors and engineers and the other for Public Works staff – about 50 workers at the outset. “We try to keep everything together and we’re growing,” he said. “Keeping all pieces of development in one place is pretty efficient.”
