Owner/developer: Rapid Robert’s Inc. General contractor: MSB Inc. Architect: Slone Architects PC Engineers: Lee Engineering and Associates LLC, civil; Edelman Engineering Corp., structural; Crocker Consulting Engineers Inc., mechanical, electrical and plumbing Size: 5,600 square feet Estimated cost: $800,000 Lender: Springfield First Community Bank Estimated completion date: Jan. 1 Project description: The newest Rapid Robert’s convenience store at Kansas Expressway and Sunshine will have similar attributes to the locally owned service station company’s store at Sunshine and Highway 65, said company spokesman Todd Wilson. There also will be differences. Instead of a suspended arch on the exterior of the building, the arch is incorporated into the building’s design, he said. Custom-glazed aluminum tiles and brushed aluminum accents will create a different appearance from its Sunshine predecessor, said project architect Ron Slone. There will be 16 fueling stations and the new location will be the first Rapid Robert’s to offer E-85, Wilson said. Inside, there will be a larger coffee bar, frozen beverage bar and an expanded wine selection, he said.
Adrianna Norris became a first-time business owner with the opening of Finley River Chiropractic; PaPPo’s Pizzeria & Pub launched its newest location; and Huey Magoo’s opened its second store in the Ozarks.
