From the Ground Up: Penmac LLC corporate office

Posted online
Owner/developer: Pen Real LLC
General contractor: Wehr Construction LLC
Architect: Place Makers LLC
Engineers: Place Makers LLC, civil, structural, mechanical, electrical and plumbing
Size: 4,352 square feet
Estimated cost: $500,000
Lender: None
Estimated completion date: August
Project description: The two-story office building will eliminate Penmac LLC’s need to lease space on the seventh floor of the Great Southern office building downtown, said Penmac founder Patti Penny. The Patton Avenue space will accommodate 90 percent of Penmac’s corporate personnel, whom Penny said had input on its design, and it will house its information technology department. Place Makers architect Jeffrey Wells said the building will fit into the urban character of downtown, with a look that blends traditional brick storefront with postmodern, bright metal features and an open atrium.
