Project description: With plans to begin holding classes next August, crews broke ground in February for OTC’s education center in Republic. OTC Chancellor Hal Higdon has said the school’s objective is to bring its career programs to students living west of Springfield. The facility, named the Bussey-Cox-Lipscomb Hall in honor of a property donation, will comprise classrooms, labs and study spaces. On 7.7 acres in the southwest part of town, the development is funded by an April 2018 vote that gave the green light for new and renewed tax levies over a 20-year period.
