Project description: Curtis Chesick, executive director of technology and communication for the Ozark School District, said West Elementary is getting a new storm shelter that includes a shared learning area and six classrooms with moveable walls. Designed to address the district’s growing student population, the plans are part of five ongoing school building upgrades in Ozark funded by $20 million in voter-approved bonds. According to Springfield Business Journal archives, enrollment in Ozark public schools is up 17 percent over the past decade.
