Project description: Ozark School District Executive Director of Technology and Communication Curtis Chesick said the addition features a new office complex and classroom pod, which doubles as a storm shelter. The project includes conversion of the school’s current offices for a high-needs special education program. The plans are part of $20 million in bond-issued projects to expand five school buildings and address the district’s growing student population. According to Springfield Business Journal archives, enrollment in Ozark public schools is up 17 percent the past decade. Scott Brown, project manager with Larry Snyder & Co., said the contractor earned a $9.7 million bid for work on four elementary schools.
