Project description: The two-story Ozark Community Center, funded by a voter-approved 1/2-cent sales tax, will feature a gymnasium with two basketball/volleyball courts, an indoor lane pool, an 8,200-square-foot fitness center, cycling room, three community rooms, a galleria, a concession area and café, wet and dry locker rooms, and a family dressing room. There is also a 475-square-foot child-care area called “Tot Drop.” Outside, there will be a jogging and walking track and a leisure pool, which includes a playground and lazy river. Also, the department received a $600,000 grant to build a Federal Emergency Management Agency shelter. The Ozark Parks and Recreation office will relocate to the facility, which city officials have nicknamed “The OC.”
