Project description: In a project approved by voters in the Nixa Public Schools district, a new multipurpose facility is under construction on a 38-acre parcel adjacent to the Nixa High School campus, where baseball, softball and practice fields are also planned. It is designed as a fabric tension steel building with an ExxoTec brand exterior core, which Killian Construction officials describe as a high-performance material by Legacy Building Solutions that brings durability, corrosion resistance, weather resilience and a translucent design that lets in natural light while cutting down on energy use. Nixa school officials say the building, which can serve as a practice field for the marching band and sports teams, will include a community room, concession facility and locker rooms.
