Project description: Phase I of the project is adding 26,500 square feet to the high school and 23,000 square feet to the junior high for classrooms, and science and computer labs, said Nixa Public Schools spokesman Zac Rantz. He said the expansion, which is funded by general obligation bonds, was bid as a single project. Phase II, which is pending passage of a 2014 bond issue, would include a 14,000-square-foot wrestling and weight room/Federal Emergency Management Agency safe room addition at the high school and a complete remodel of the junior high entrance.
