Project description: Godwin & Associates Architects & Engineers Inc. President Wes Godwin said his firm is handling all construction disciplines for the project, which will give the Life360 Church Calvary Campus a new home after selling its Grand Street property to Wal-Mart Stores Inc. (NYSE: WMT) a few years ago. Wal-Mart built a Neighborhood Market store at the corner of Grand and Campbell Avenue in March. Godwin said the church’s new site, dubbed Life360 WestGate, presented some geological challenges with large rocks unearthed and soft soil below. “We ended up having to excavate 8-10 feet of the soil and put rock back in its place. We had to bring crushed rock in,” he said. Godwin said the building is designed for a sanctuary to seat 350, classrooms and a children’s area, an office and foyer.
