Project description: This former Heilig-Meyers Furniture store is being converted into the library district's north-side counterpart to South Campbell's Library Center. The new library, which will replace the Kearney branch, will offer drive-up window service, meeting rooms, a children's library, a consumer-law collection, an automotive repair collection and a satellite genealogy collection. The library will have a St. Louis Bread Co. bakery accessible from the lobby. The library's decor will celebrate the transportation history of Springfield and the region.
