Project description: Kum & Go District Supervisor Barry Green said the Iowa-based chain is relocating its South Jefferson Avenue store because of an aging building and limited square footage. A half-mile away on East Battlefield, developers demolished the 777 Office Building at the northeast corner of Kimbrough Avenue and Battlefield Road to make way for a Kum & Go with 10 fuel pumps and a variety of food products, including made-to-order pizzas. Green said the store is equipped with Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design features such as LED lighting and low-flow water fixtures. The construction is part of Kum & Go’s plan to invest $24 million through 2015 on store renovations across the company’s 46 stores in Greene County.
